Description
Flowers have been a loved subject for artists for centuries. The subject of florals can tell stories, express emotion, symbolize meaning, depict cultural style and significance. This in person 8 week course will discover new approaches to floral painting. The class will learn how to abstract paint from sources such as photographs and real flowers. Students will learn a variety of acrylic painting techniques and discover the ‘watercolor’ and oil effects this exciting modern media can perform. Lessons include learning about texture, color mixing, glazing, values and composition planning. A large expressive floral canvas will culminate in a final work of art.
