Description
This 6 week class is designed for anyone who would enjoy personalizing their home or office with hand-painted decor that brings the personal into their interior.
The magic of paint can transform walls, furnishings and many varieties of objects such as picture frames, lamp shades and a wide variety of inspirations..
This course will teach a variety of techniques for walls; furnishings; and decorative objects. Questions we will be encouraged for sharing personal interests.
Students will have decorative works of art to take home and learn how to apply glazes, and stencils. Hand-painting also encouraged. Personal ideas for your home are welcome to explore.
Peri Pfenninger was born in New York and relocated to Connecticut in 2013. She received her Fine Arts degree at the New York Institute of Technology, Old Westbury, N.Y. in 1989, and completed her MFA with Western Connecticut State University, in Danbury, CT.
Her recent oil paintings depict abstract portraits of nature. She is currently painting a second oil portrait for the New York Supreme courthouse in Brooklyn, NY. Her exhibits include the Blue Mountain gallery in Chelsea, NYC and is currently exhibiting at the Milford Arts Council where one of her works received an honorable mention December 2024. She has an extensive published portfolio of public projects and mural art with over 30 years in mastering the medium of acrylics. Visit www.perisartsalon.com

Suggestions:

One unfinished wooden decorative object ( suggestions: a picture frame; candlestick holders; a small stool; a small wooden box;

a wooden bowl,; a small chair; a ceramic unpainted vase) Michaels has many wooden objects if you do not have something from home)

Inexpensive house brushes, up to 2" is fine, and synthetic Artist brushes.

Paints: You can use house paints! if you have some from home, bring them in small containers so they are easy to carry, (great for recycling!!)

New Paints- Craft Smart or deco craft colors, Michaels has a large selection.For the first class a few colors you love are fine plus white. Up to 3-4 colors. you can add more along the way.

Small paint roller_ Foam, 4-6inch is fine.

Paper towels, Viva is best!

containers, small tupperware is nice, plastic white plates
