Description
This course is an introduction to basic woodworking skills with an emphasis on safe practices. Students will be introduced to a variety of machines and hand tools in the construction of an antique style footstool. The project will follow the complete fabrication process from measuring accuracy all the way through the finishing process.
Time permitting, students will have the opportunity to make a beautiful pen on a pen lathe and create a stylish box to accompany it.
The cost includes a non-refundable supply fee of $45.
Alison Stephens has been teaching Technology Education in Connecticut for the last 14 years. For most of that time she has taught a large amount of woodshop/hands on problem solving with emphasis on safety and good measurement skills. In addition to working with wood she loves to hike with her dogs, travel, and take lots of photos.
